I grew up just down the Kennedy Expressway in Des Plaines, IL, so I am no stranger to the traffic here in Chicago. I left the state for college, choosing to attend the University of Minnesota, where I majored in Chemistry. After college, I wanted to try out a couple other experiences before getting into medicine. So I spent time working at Disney World, waiting tables at a restaurant, and serving with Americorps. My Americorps program was called Admission Possible, and I spent 2 years helping a group of awesome, low-income high school students get into college. They inspired me to continue working with underserved populations, and I chose to do so as a physician.

I attended UIC for medical school, and from day one, I was pretty much sold on a career in Family Medicine. The Family Medicine department here was inspiring to me as a student, because they really believe in what they are doing. Plus, I have yet to hear of another program as committed to helping underserved populations as UIC Family Medicine is. My clinical interests include underserved care, adolescent medicine, preventative medicine, and fighting childhood obesity.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, golfing, building LEGO sets, and exploring the city with my wife, trying new food and drink.
