Dr. Fishman retired from UIC in 2010 to accept a position as Director, Center for Inherited Retinal Disease, at the Chicago Lighthouse for People who are Blind or Visually Impaired after a career spanning 36 years as a member of the Department’s faculty directing ground-breaking research on hereditary retinal diseases.
