Biographical Info

Dr. Pandey is an associate professor with significant experience in clinical trials, epidemiological and outcome studies, and data management and statistical analysis for both NIH and non-NIH sponsored studies. Dr. Pandey, a physician epidemiologist and an experienced mentor, serves as the Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation at the UIC College of Medicine at Chicago. He also has an affiliate faculty appointment in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the UIC School of Public Health and adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Pandey is a fellow of the AHA/ASA stroke council and AHA council on Epidemiology and Prevention. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of neurologic and cardiovascular disease clinical trials, health services, and outcomes research and has served as PI of the Illinois CAPTURE STROKE registry, a Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Registry in Illinois, Great Lakes Regional Stroke Network, and a DRG-based study for thrombolytic therapy in acute ischemic stroke. In addition, Dr. Pandey has directed the data management center for a NIH-funded thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura (TTP) surveillance study. He has served as reviewer in NIH and non-NIH study review panels. He currently serves as member of AHA’s Executive Database Steering Committee and AHA Stroke Statistics Committee.

Dr. Pandey earned his medical degree and completed his clinical training in India. He then earned both a Master of Science (MS) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Community Health Sciences/Epidemiology from the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.
