Ann W. Jackson, PT, DPT, MPHAdjunct Lecturer Medical Education
Dr. Jackson is a licensed Physical Therapist who has interest in community health delivery models, health equity, ethics and food insecurity. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of South Carolina, Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rosalind Franklin University and completed a fellowship in Clinical Medical Ethics from the University of Chicago MacLean Center. Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and services as an Ethics Committee member for the Illinois Physical Therapy Association. Her clinical and research interest include health equity and access in vulnerable communities, post-secondary educational resources for those with physical and intellectual disabilities and addressing food insecurity among those with chronic health conditions. In March of 2020 she became the founder of The Center for Food Equity in Medicine, an organization whose mission is to impact food insecurity among those navigating a cancer diagnosis. Dr. Jackson also serves on the boards of other organizations addressing food and social justice issues and volunteers her time in a Pro Bono Physical therapy clinic. Dr. Jackson is currently working with the National Cancer Policy Forum to raise awareness of the issue of food insecurity among those living beyond a cancer diagnosis.
