Dr. Scanzera is fellowship-trained in fitting medically necessary contact lenses. She fits soft, rigid gas permeable, and scleral lenses for both acute and chronic eye conditions. Her clinical interests include improving vision from corneal irregularities as well as reducing symptoms from severe ocular surface disease. In addition to her time spent at the IEEI, she also serves as an attending optometrist at the Mile Square Health Center. Additionally, her passion for serving medically underserved areas has inspired her to pursue additional education at the UIC School of Public Health. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Scleral Lens Education Society.

Dr. Scanzera sees patients at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and Millennium Park Eye Center. She joined Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary faculty in 2016.
