2024 Summer Institute

Hosted at the
George Washington University
June 3-7,  2024

The Summer Institute will start on Monday the 3rd at 1pm and end on Friday the 7th at noon.

We will convene a one week-long GMH Summer Institute for 10 selected mentees each year. The mentees will engage in a series of lectures, seminars, interactive sessions, and peer-led sessions. Each Summer Institute will also include a different group of approximately 6 mentoring faculty, including several from LMICs, and 1-2 people living with mental illness, as well as the 2 Program Directors. Most sessions will be co-taught with R25 faculty from the US and LMIC institutions.

Hands-on workshop activities will cover a range of methods tailored to mentees’ needs. All summer institutes will offer a spectrum of basic skills to assure that mentees have a mixed-methods foundation; examples include Introduction to Biostatistics; Statistical and Epidemiological Principles; Qualitative Research, and; Manuscript and Grant Proposal Writing.
