Project/Activity Summary:
The project team is working in partnership with (2) Hub and (5) Spoke Hospitals in a 10km project radius in north-west Bangalore, India that are collaborating in a dedicated emergency response and transport system. In this quality improvement project we are implementing strategies and collecting data to:
- Evaluate improvement in acute STEMI care of patients arriving directly at the hospital
- Evaluate improvement of transfer processes between the hospitals that are PCI- capable and those that are not
- Study the process of pre hospital access to STEMI care using the existing systems and evaluate the improvement after integrating into a Hub and Spoke Hospital system of STEMI response and care
We focus on community education that empowers patients & community, 1st responders for rapid intervention and treatment, CPR and AED when needed and appropriate follow-up care. Our team increases public awareness by providing risk assessments, education on signs/symptoms of heart attack, how and where to call for help, CPR and AED usage.

Project/Activity Summary:
Through continuous collaboration with UIC since 2011, partly supported the Binaytara Foundation and capital investment of Nepalese Government a BMT Unit and Stem Cell Processing Lab opened in August 2016. The Nepal BMT Program has now completed over 50 transplants.
