Body Imaging
Body Imaging at UI Health covers the services including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computed tomography (CT):
Computed tomography (CT)
Computed tomography (CT) imaging combines X-ray images with computer technology to produce detailed images of the body, including skeletal, muscular, and vascular systems. CT imaging provide more detailed images than X-rays, for more precise diagnoses for a variety of medical conditions.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
An MRI scan is similar to a CT scan, in that it can show detailed images of the inside of your body. Instead of using x-rays, an MRI scan uses strong magnets and radio waves to create these images. An MRI scan can reveal the size and position of the
tumor, and if the cancer has spread outside of the bladder into surrounding tissues.
