Comprehensive Hearing Evaluations

We are first and foremost concerned with the prevention of hearing loss.  We are involved with implementing programs to protect the hearing of individuals who are exposed to noisy and recreation situations.

The first step toward the indentificatiion and threatment of hearing loss involoves a number of simple, yet accurate measures.  An audiogram is obtained by plotting the lowest intensity and individual can detect sound (hearing threshold)  for a range of low pitch, middle pitch and high pitch tones.  Other measures may include a test of word recognition, in quiet and noise, middle ear function (tympanogram), inner ear function (otoacoustic emissions), and gross auditory nerve function (middle ear reflexes).
