Individuals who wear hearing aids know, first hand, that hearing aids are not like eyeglasses.  We hear with our brains, not our ears.  Because of this, it can take some time to re-train our brains to make use of the complex sounds (i.e. speech) that it hasn’t heard correctly in some time due to a longstanding hearing loss.

In some case, it can take up to 6 months for adults and children to get appropriately adjusted to amplification.

Our staff will share communication strategies with you and your family to help ease you back into the world of hearing and maximize the benefit your hearing aids have to offer.

For adults and children who have never heard correctly before, we have to train the brain to hear and differentiate sounds, something normal hearing people take for granted.  This will take time and lots of practice.

Our staff are specially trained to deliver treatment techniques that will guide you or your child through the normal developmental sequence of learning how to hear.

Because parents and family members play a critical role toward success, we will give you activities to practice at home.
