Dr. Putterman is an internationally respected leader in oculoplastic surgery who has published over 325 scientific papers and given over 310 lectures, mostly on oculoplastic surgery procedures and instruments he has invented. The 4th edition of his definitive textbook, Cosmetic Oculoplastic Surgery was recently published. He has received many prestigious awards throughout his career; he has been named one of America’s Best Doctors annually since 1994 and listed in America’s Top Doctors (by Castle Connolly) in every edition since their first in 2001. He has held leadership positions in the American Association of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, his subspecialty’s leading professional society. Dr. Putterman teaches residents and directs the Oculoplastic Surgery Fellowship program for the Department. He joined the Department in 1970.
