Welcome to our conference

Antonio Scommegna, MD Symposium

It is a pleasure to invite you to our Annual Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference on October 27th, 2023. We have invited several distinguished faculty from around the country to give state-of-the-art lectures, including:

Adrian C Balica, MD, Obstetrician and Gynecologist practicing at Prisma Health, Columbia, SC, who will give a lecture on “The New Frontier for Understanding Pelvic Pain through Neuroanatomy”

Nikia Grayson, DNP, MPH, FNP-C, CNM, a Reproductive Justice informed public health activist and family nurse-midwife who will give a lecture on “Working Toward Reproductive Justice: How Partnering with Community Birthworkers is the Way Forward.”

Several of our own distinguished faculty are offering “Pearls for Practice” in their areas of expertise including:

  • Moral Distress and Reproductive Injustice
  • Preventing pre-term birth
  • Centering the voices of black birthing community
  • Endometrial Cancer
  • Use of continuous glucose monitoring in pregnancy

For those attending in-person, there will be ample opportunity to meet with all of the Distinguished Faculty to discuss clinical cases, and to reacquaint with friends or colleagues, over coffee or lunch.

I look forward to meeting healthcare providers who attend this Conference for the first time, and reuniting with colleagues, friends, and healthcare providers from throughout the state and beyond, and especially meeting with UIC alumni.

Mark your calendars, register online, and hope to see you soon!
