Welcome To The University of Illinois Rehabilitation Division!

The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System’s (UI Hospital) rehabilitation team offers individualized treatments for patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, neuromuscular diseases, limb amputations, surgery, trauma and other debilitating conditions. Our multidisciplinary rehabilitation staff (including those specializing in physiatry, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, neuropsychology, respiratory therapy, dietetics, and social work) and discharge planners have the skills, experience, and specialized knowledge to provide patients with every service needed to reach their best possible rehabilitative outcomes.

Rehabilitation services are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

Inpatient Services

The inpatient Rehabilitation Service is provided for persons requiring intensive services including medical management, nursing intervention, and multiple therapies. Our rehabilitation unit in the main hospital building (on the 5th Floor in 5E) has a total of 18 inpatient beds to provide care.
