I choose UIC because it is well known to have excellent training in gastroenterology and hepatology. Our training at UIC and the VA exposes us to a diverse patient population and consequently a variety of aliments, which I believe to be essential in fellowship training. Also, the faculty here is extremely supportive, specializing in different genres of gastroenterology and hepatology helping us enrich our learning experience.
