Tuesday Conference(s)

1:30PM – 2:30PM Fellows’ Conference:

Usually either a lecture given by an endocrine faculty member or by an invited speaker from a different division. Held on every Tuesday afternoon throughout the year for all fellows. Additionally, approximately once monthly fellows also participate in board review and discussion sessions focused on specific areas within endocrinology led by a faculty member.

3PM – 5PM Conference(s):

This conference serves as our divisional grand rounds as well as an opportunity to discuss and learn about interesting cases. Fellows participate weekly both as speakers as well as attendants during this protected educational time. The 3-4pm session is typically given by an invited speaker with a focused clinical or research topic, and the 4-5pm session is set for case discussions.

Additionally, the second Tuesday of every month is spent as a combined conference with rotation between UIC, Rush Hospital and Stroger/Cook Counter Hospital

Wednesday Conference(s) for Clinical/Research Fellows but Clinical Fellows Can attend

12:00PM – 1:00PM Journal Club:

Meeting hosted by Division Chief to present and discuss journal articles and prominent research. This conference is for research/clinical fellows, but clinical fellows can attend if they want.

Thursday Conference(s)

1:00PM – 2:00PM Thyroid Tumor Cancer Board:

Third Thursday of the month, to discuss specialized cases. Times and locations can vary.

Annual Diabetes & Obesity Day: hosted by Dr. Unterman to present and discuss journal articles and prominent research on the second Tuesday of October.

Department of Medicine Scholarly Activities Day: Hosted annually

INSTRUCTIONS: In order to add a sidebar anchor:

  1. Duplicate the existing item, listed as a 1/6 text field. (Or create a 1/6 column and add a text field, modify the class so it’s exactly “additionalAnchor”).
  2. Modify the text field inside the 1/6 column. Inside there, modify the HYPERLINK so that it would go to a corresponding section with a “#” in front of it. (Example, we have a “chief” section on the page, then it would make sense to have the hyperlink go to “#chief”)
  3. Then change the hyperlink TEXT to a appropriate label.
  4. IMPORTANT: If not done already, go into that CONTAINER that corresponds to your anchor (i.e. Meet The Chiefs), and add an ID matching the anchor’s HYPERLINK WITHOUT the “#”, i.e. “chief”.
  5. (If using side bar widget box, then there’s a saved copy of a widget box COLUMN, grab it in the column library, it should 1/6 of a length of a column.)
