Born and raised in Flint, Michigan I stayed in-state and attended the University of Michigan where I earned a degree in chemical engineering. As a die hard Michigan fan I will forever go blue and have love for the Big Ten, except Ohio State. I always saw myself in the health field and at the end of undergrad I imagined myself more as a physician long term than a professional engineer. I attended Georgetown University School of Medicine and it was during
my first year of medical school that I discovered and fell in love with family medicine. My passions are community oriented and I appreciate and enjoy the impact physicians can make in the lives of their patients and neighborhoods. The diverse interests and opportunities I could have as a family physician motivate me because I want to be on the frontline of medicine and be involved in upstream medicine. Outside of medicine I love the performing
arts from plays and concerts to dance performances and poetry slams. I think creativity is important and beautiful. Personally, I like to write poetry and occasionally perform spoken word when I have time. My favorite things are to have a balance between art and science and to enjoy my surroundings.
