I was born and raised outside of Cleveland, Ohio, leaving there at 18 to spend the next 8 years at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. In undergrad I majored in Biology with minors in Theology and Urban Social Analysis. After graduation and prior to starting medical school, I spent the summer working in El Salvador for a non-profit focused on social justice and rural community engagement and awareness. During medical school my interests pulled me towards the sociopolitical determinants of health, ultimately leading me towards Family Medicine. I chose UIC’s program for its strong mission in underserved care as well as its passionate faculty and residents who are leading the program. My clinical interests include urban underserved medicine, LGBTQ healthcare, HIV care, and healthcare policy. In my free time you’ll likely find me exploring my new home city of Chicago!
