Biographical Info

Hey team! My name is Julia Baird. I grew up on the northside of Chicago. I went to Washington University in St. Louis for undergrad and double majored in Educational Studies and German. After college, I served in Jacksonville, FL as an AmeriCorps members with City Year where I worked in an 8th grade pre-algebra classroom. Following City Year, I returned to Chicago to attend medical school at the University of Chicago where I spent as much time as I could getting back into the community. I taught nutrition and sexual education in middle schools and led a group of high school students as we designed initiatives to improve community health. I am so excited to be a part of the UIC family medicine residency and start building with my community here.

For fun, you can find me running along the lake, sketching throughout the city, or just happily hanging with friends, playing cards.
