Biographical Info

I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin where I was raised on a steady diet of the Green Bay Packers and cheese. For college, I attended Loyola University Chicago where I fell in love with the beauty and complexity of living in a diverse city. I then attended University of Wisconsin for medical school and joined the urban medicine program, where I was able to partner with a local Milwaukee organization to develop programming intended to improve primary care access for individuals struggling with housing insecurity. I was attracted to family medicine due to the long-term relationship family doctors are able to have with their patients, the wide breadth of conditions they can treat, and their ability to advocate and affect change for their patients. I wanted to be a part of UIC Family Medicine program because of their unparalleled commitment to social justice and mission of addressing health disparities among an urban underserved population.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, cooking with family and friends, trying to coax affection out of my cats, and exploring Chicago.
