Dr. Jacob Charny
Jacob Charny was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised in nearby Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Human Biology. He then attended the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. Prior to beginning his dermatology training, he completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital, the Nation’s first hospital. When not at work, Jacob enjoys going to museums and the theater, traveling, and enjoying nature with plenty of sun protection!
Dr. Thomas Klis
Thomas Klis was born in Oak Lawn, Illinois and grew up in the Chicagoland area. His parents were born in Poland, and he is very proud of his Polish heritage, being both fluent in the language and participating in Polish cultural events throughout Chicago. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Chicago (Go Flames baby!) and received his medical degree from the University of Toledo in Ohio… and is glad to finally be home. When not in clinic, Tommy enjoy spending time with his identical twin brother Joey creating electronic music/mashups, playing basketball, and pumping iron at the gym.
Dr. Owen Kramer
Owen Kramer grew up in Orland Park, a suburb of Chicago. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign where he majored in Molecular & Cellular Biology and minored in Spanish. Owen attended medical school at UIC and went on to complete his intern year at Advocate Illinois Masonic. He enjoys spending time with his wife, practicing his Spanish, traveling, meeting new people, and working out. Some of his favorite locations he has traveled to include Chefchaouen(Morocco), Bergen(Norway), and Havana(Cuba).
Dr. Krishna Patel
Krishna Patel was born in Montreal, Canada but raised in the west suburbs of Chicago. She completed both her undergraduate and medical education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before returning to UIC for dermatology residency, she completed her internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center and a clinical trials research fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Northwestern University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, traveling, exploring the city, baking, and competing in trivia competitions.
