Project/Activity Summary
Dr. Boudova has been partnering with KBTH and working with physicians at KBTH on fetal anomaly ultrasound education and research since 2023. This collaboration has resulted in a publication characterizing the spectrum of fetal anomalies identified over three years at KBTH. Our work has underscored the feasibility and importance of performing detailed anatomy ultrasounds in LMIC. In addition to this research collaboration, we have established institutional relationships to allow fellows and attendings in MFM, from KBTH to join the monthly virtual fetal anomaly review meeting at UIC. Currently trainees from both sites present PowerPoint presentations of complex ultrasound cases seen in the preceding month. This partnership has been well received; the distribution of fetal anomalies seen at KBTH, is markedly different from that at UIC. Thus, sharing cases between the sites increases the diversity of fetal anomalies seen by trainees at both institutions.
