UIC and MedGlobal Refugee and Immigrant Health Elective
Location:Â Chicago and International Site (varies e.g. Colombia, Ecuador)
Program: This two-week course focuses on providing compassionate care to refugee and migrant populations. It includes one week of didactics, hands-on experiences, and a site visit in Chicago, and one week of experiential learning at international migrant clinical care sites in partnership with MedGlobal.

ClÃnica de Familia La Romana Clinical or Research Electives
Location:Â Dominican Republic
Program: The clinic provides medical attention and psychosocial support to adults and children with HIV, sex workers, adolescents, and other highly vulnerable populations in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. Minimum one-month clinical electives are available or longer-term research electives. Spanish language proficiency is required.

University of São Paulo Medical School Winter Program
Location:  São Paulo, Brazil
Program: The Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) Winter Schools (North American summer, occurs in July) consist of 2 weeks of in-person educational and cultural activities and clinical experiences in one of 14 different topics ranging from trauma surgery to dermatology to neglected tropical diseases. The program is open to all medical students and is in English. The application deadline is March 31st.
