The American Liver Foundation hosts an annual Academic Liver Debate for the Great Lakes Region.
The very popular, heavily attended and competitive event consists of the representation of all the major academic centers. With months of preparation, our Gastroenterology fellows were tasked with debating Loyola on the topic of locoregional therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma. The Department of Medicine GI fellows, Mitali Agarwal and Wasseem Skef, debated phenomenally, and our team was determined to be the winner of the debate! Adam Mikolajczyk served as their mentor. Furthermore, UIC also won the donation drive at the end of the night. Congratulations!
