The Gabriel Plaa education award of the Society of Toxicology Mechanisms Specialty Section recognizes outstanding postdoctoral fellows that make significant contributions in the field of mechanistic toxicology. Elvis was awarded the third price of this prestigious award for his work on the effects of bisphenol S, an emerging bisphenol, on placental cell invasion. Elvis’ had to conduct part of the interview process via Zoom since the Society of Toxicology 60th Annual Meeting was cancelled for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
