2009 Faculty and Staff Cap and Gown Procedures
Department Heads (or a designee) march in regalia with his/her departmental faculty and are seated in labeled chairs on stage; faculty march in regalia and are seated in a reserved section adjacent to graduates. Administrative Deans march with the Platform Party and are seated in labeled chairs on stage. Staff from the Office of Faculty Affairs will be available to direct faculty line-up (in the Parking Structure east of the Pavillion) and procession.Instructions for Wearing Academic Hood and Cap (printable pdf)
- Department Heads and faculty order regalia through department representatives, as listed below.
- Administrative Deans without faculty appointments and LPC preceptors order regalia through Rita Pacini at pacinirm@uic.edu (Phone: 312-996-1614)
- Departments are responsible for collecting faculty orders and forwarding orders to Rita Pacini of the Office of Faculty Affairs by Friday, February 27, 2009. pacinirm@uic.edu at 117 CMW, M/C 784; FAX: 312-996-9006; Phone: 312-996-1614.
- Departments pick up regalia in CMW 117 on Tuesday, April 28th, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m and distribute all regalia to faculty (including stoles).
- Departments order faculty stoles directly from Traditions USA (1-800-297-4723) using the color chart below (note new vendor colors).
- Department Heads wear 96 inch stoles with Yellow Gold Fringe
- Professors and Associate Professors wear 96 inch stoles
- Assistant Professors wear 72 inch stoles
- Caps and Gown Return Bins will be available at the Pavilion on May 8.
- Stoles are returned directly to departments.
