Program Administration
Dr. Larry S. Tobacman
 |
Program Director Dr. Tobacman arrived at UIC in 2003 to become Program Director, and is Professor of Medicine and of Physiology & Biophysics. Previously he was at the University of Iowa in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Biochemistry. Dr. Tobacman's education and training were at Brandeis University, Case Western Reserve University, and the National Institutes of Health. In 2007 he assumed the additional role of Senior Associate Dean for Research in the College of Medicine.

Karen Colley

Associate Director Karen Colley is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics and the Associate Dean for Graduate Research and Education in the College of Medicine, She earned her BA from Duke University and her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis.

Roberta Bernstein

Program Assistant Director Mrs. Bernstein joined the Program in November 2002 after a 13-year career at the University of Chicago where she served from 1989 to 1998 as Administrative and Editorial Assistant to the late David N. Schramm, Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics and Vice President for Research, and from 1998 to August 2002 as Associate Dean of Students of the PhD Program of the Graduate School of Business. She holds a BA in French from the University of Chicago and an MA in French from Roosevelt University.
