UI Health is UIC’s academic health enterprise

The Department of Medical Education (DME) is the oldest continuously functioning department of medical education in the world. Our mission is to advance the theory and practice of the health professions education with the ultimate goal of improving the care of patients. DME continues to have significant local, national, and international influence and impact through its many and varied programmatic missions.

MHPE and PhD

There are two Health Professions Education graduate degree programs. Students in these programs are aiming to deepen their methodological training and increase their knowledge of the health professions education canon.
