The Dr. Orville J. Stone Professorship in Dermatology Investiture Ceremony was held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the University Club of Chicago. Alumni of the Dermatology Residency program, faculty, donors, friends and family of the Department of Dermatology, College of Medicine Leadership and University Administrators were invited to celebrate the inaugural awarding of the Stone Professorship.

Dr. Gregory Stone, who was representing his father, Dr. Orville Stone, who the Professorship was named after, spoke about his father and the many similarities in character and professional interests between Dr. Orville Stone and Dr. Lawrence Chan.

Dr. David Woodley, a mentor of Dr. Chan’s, attended the investiture and also made remarks after the ceremony.

University leadership, including Provost R. Michael Tanner, Interim Chancellor Eric Gislason, and Dean of the College of Medicine Dr. Joseph Flaherty were all in attendance and participated in the investiture ceremony to officially award the professorship.
