Our Mission Statement

To support important educational, research and patient-care programs in transplantation and in digestive, liver and nutritional diseases such as hepatitis C, colon cancer and peptic ulcer, among others.

In 1997, a group of concerned Chicago-area residents joined together to improve life for family members, friends, neighbors and business associates who were afflicted by diseases of the GI tract. These volunteers formed the GILD Council to increase awareness of these diseases and raise funds to assist the work of physicians and researchers at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago.
