“Friends of UIC Pediatrics” was founded by a group of philanthropic volunteers that have chosen as their mission, fund-raising and support of the Department of Pediatrics at UIC. The Department consists of dedicated and highly qualified faculty and staff who care for children from all socio-economic backgrounds, including a large number of underprivileged children. This group is committed to philanthropy to assist the Department to provide outstanding care to all children who come to UIC. Patients receive compassionate and the highest quality medical care from nationally and internationally known doctors. 

We are proud that in less than two years our group has purchased a DCA Analyzer to assist our diabetic patients, contributed monies to the family support fund which pays for meals and parking, provided some funding for the Pediatric Oncology Social Work Program, given thousands of dollars worth of books and craft items to the in-patients and out-patients at UIC, and contributed a $25,000 donation to purchase a pediatric ultrasound.  We plan to do even ore in the coming months.

Fifth grade children from Christ The King School and Friends of UIC Pediatric member Marc F. Archambeau raised more than $2000 for Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Usha Raj, Head of Department of Pediatrics accepts a record contribution from the National Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochas Society. The Gifts have helped underwrite our Pediatric Oncology Social Work Program.

Grateful Pediatrics staff attend the Fall Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochas Fundraiser. The Arch bishop blessed our efforts on behalf of children.

Kathy Apostal, Ellen Duffy and Barbra Luce make plans for the Oct 1 Halloween Lunch and Fashion Show to benefit Friends of UIC Pediatrics.  Disney has partnered with us on this novel fundraiser.
