Research is an integral part of the residency experience. Residents are involved with research projects under faculty supervision throughout their training, and have a dedicated three-month research rotation in their PGY3 year. At the end of each academic year every resident presents their research at the department's annual Resident Research Symposium. Guest judges evaluate the presentations; choose a winner and award a monetary prize which is presented at the end of the year Resident Dinner. A faculty Director of Resident Research coordinates resident research activity.
