Department of Neurosurgery, University of Illinois at Chicago
Course Location: Neuropsychiatric Institute, Department of Neurosurgery,
University of Illinois at Chicago
We are pleased to announce the 1st Bern-Chicago Cerebral Revascularization and Endovascular Course, which follows the format of the highly successful European Cerebral Revascularization and Endovascular Stroke Treatment Course offered in Bern, Switzerland for the last seven years. This hands-on training course will offer intensive practical experience, complemented by focused presentations on the latest development in both surgical and endovascular cerebral revascularization and interventions.
The course will include options for hands-on training in both microsurgical and endovascular procedures. Course registrants will be able to choose between participation in a combined 3 day course featuring both microsurgical and endovascular training (in-vitro and in-vivo) or the option of a 2 day course dedicated solely to either microsurgical revascularization, or to endovascular techniques. There will be abundant opportunities to practice microsurgical vascular anastomosis in laboratory and animal models, and to perform endovascular interventions including coiling, liquid embolic agents, stents and mechanical thrombectomy using both simulators and large animal models. We have an experienced group of international faculty who will share their expertise and provide practical tips and tricks from their personal clinical experience. Participants are encouraged to bring their own challenging cases for discussion, as there will be opportunity for input and small group discussion throughout the training sessions.
This course will be useful both for the early career individual looking to gain more hands-on skills, and for the more advanced practitioner looking to hone or gain skills with newer and emerging therapies. Space for the course is limited, so we encourage you to register early for this unique intensive hands-on experience.
We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!
