Brain Tumors: A Pathway for Healing

The University of Illinois Brain Tumor Center, along with the cancer support center in Homewood IL, offers a support group for brain tumor survivors and their care givers. Receiving the diagnosis of a brain tumor can be an overwhelming experience. The brain is the core of a person’s existence, and tumors can affect every aspect of one’s being. The support group, which is facilitated by UIC advanced practice nurse Jean Arzbaecher, offers education and support to survivors and their caregivers. It is one of the largest brain tumor support groups in the country, and meets on the second Thursday of every month at the cancer support center in Homewood IL.
