Welcome to the Yuan Lab! We are a research lab focused on vascular biology, electrophysiology, and the pathogenic mechanisms of pulmonary vascular disease. We use the combined techniques of patch clamping, digital imaging fluorescence microscopy, and cellular and molecular biology techniques to investigate the roles of ion channels and intracellular Ca2+ signaling in regulating vasomotor tone, and pulmonary vascular smooth muscle proliferation and apoptosis in order to understand the molecular mechanisms of idiopathic and thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. The aim of our investigation is to identify new therapeutic targets and treatment strategies for pulmonary hypertension. A more thorough summary of the current projects in the lab is provided in the Research Focus.
Thanks for visiting!
