FGICU (Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Unit)
The FGICU is a multidisciplinary unit to care for patients and families who may be affected by a hereditary GI cancer syndrome and is the only facility in Chicago that specializes in Gastrointestinal cancer genetics.
We provide comprehensive state-of-the-art care for all members of families that have high risk for developing gastrointestinal or other types of related cancers because of an inherited predisposition.

Our colorectal Screening group focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of colon and rectal disorders. We focus on the early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer through the most advanced magnification chromoendoscopic technology available.
We run a number of NCI-funded colon cancer chemoprevention trials. Current studies include investigations wtih curcumin, Vitamin D, and fiber suplements. Please call 312-355-4073 for more information.
