All students at UIC have free access to basic primary care services provided by the Department of Family Medicine at their two clinics on campus:

Same-day appointments, evening, and Saturday appointments are available.
Be sure to bring your UIC student ID card to your appointment.
Student health services include:
Care of acute illnesses and injuries
Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases
Management of birth control, including pregnancy testing
Physical exams required by the student’s college
-vision and hearing screening, tuberculosis testing if required
General preventive care
-pap smears and cholesterol testing at recommended intervals
Medications covered include:
Medications for minor illnesses and injuries at no cost
Birth control pills at discounted cost
Medications must be obtained at a UIC pharmacy. UIC pharmacies are conveniently
located near the Family Medicine clinics
Student Health does NOT cover:
- Care provided by UIH physicians or clinics other than Family Medicine
- Care provided by physicians, clinics, or hospitals outside UIH
- Care of ongoing chronic diseases
For health services not covered by Student Health, your private health insurance will be billed.

Students also have access to free health services at the Student Center East provided by the UIC Counseling Center, the UIC Wellness Center, and the UIC Gender and Sexuality Center.
