Dr. Lisa Blackwood
Lisa Blackwood was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and French at Tufts University. She obtained a masters degree in Neuroscience at Tulane University and then went to medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Before beginning her dermatology residency at UIC, she completed her internship at UIC. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys travel, good food, playing with her dogs, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Benjamin Garden
Benjamin Garden, born and raised in Chicago, completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Yeshiva University in New York City. After college, he taught science in a high school in Brooklyn as part of Teach for America, before attending medical school at Cornell University. He is now completing his internship in Internal Medicine at Hofstra University North Shore LIJ Health System in NYC. After his long exile on the East Coast, Ben is excited to return with his family to Chicago and attend Cubs games as much as his schedule permits.
Dr. Michael Sotiriou
Michael Sotiriou was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT. He completed his undergraduate degree in neurobiology at the University of Wisconsin−Madison. He returned to Salt Lake City to obtain his medical degree at the University of Utah. After graduating, he completed a transition year internship at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago before starting his dermatology residency at UIC. Having grown up in Utah, he is an avid skier, fly fisher, and outdoor enthusiast. Additionally, he likes to golf, cook, explore Chicago restaurants, and watch Wisconsin and Utah sports.
Dr. Huayi Zhang
Huayi Zhang grew up in San Diego, CA, daughter to two avid photographers and travelers. She majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Berkeley and then attended Graduate School at Georgetown University in Washington DC. Huayi completed her medical training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL. Huayi caught the travelling and photography bug from her parents at an early age and has been all over the world. On her list of places to visit next are India, Iceland and the Seychelles! Huayi also loves to dance, she is trained in ballet and salsa, be sure to join her for a twirl on the dance floor! Cooking and eating brings Huayi great joy, you can often catch her glued to the Food Network when she's not studying dermatology.
