The Medical Acupuncture Service recently celebrated its one year anniversary. Since the clinic opened in September 2009, patients are now able to integrate acupuncture into the medical treatment regimen they are receiving at the University of Illinois Medical Center. The service is run by Rosalie Tassone, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology

Acupuncture is particularly useful in resolving physical problems related to tension and stress and emotional conditions.
Dr. Mehmet Ozcan Certified In Neurocritical Care
February 15, 2011
Mehmet Ozcan, MD recently passed the neurocritical care certification exam administered by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS). The UCNS, incorporated in March 2003, is sponsored by five parent organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association. Neurocritical care certification has been offered since 2005, and there are probably fewer than 400 diplomates, the majority of whom are neurologists. The primary mission of the UCNS is to accredit training programs in neurologic subspecialties and to certify competence in physicians who have completed an accredited training program, with the goal of enhancing the quality of training benefiting both physicians and patients. Congratulations, Mehmet!
