Observership

The Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to accommodate observors on the basis of availability and sponsorship by a neurosurgery faculty member. Observors will have the opportunity to observe neurosurgical cases in the OR, attend ICU/resident rounds and attend conferences. Observors will not have access to hands-on patient care or direct involvement with surgery.

To arrange a visit as a clinical observer, you must first identify a faculty within the Department who agrees to serve as your sponsor for your visit, and then provide the following information:

  • Written confirmation of faculty sponsor
  • Cover letter including dates of requested visit
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Current Photo
  • Letter of good standing as a neurosurgeon or neurosurgical trainee, from applicant’s home institution. (Medical students should provide a letter confirming current status from their institution.)
