Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Curriculum
Research Track
Our Research Track (4-year program) involves commitment to two years of basic science or translational research with minimal clinical training during this period. The last two years involve intensive clinical exposure and basic endoscopic procedures. There is no exposure to ERCP, EUS, or other advanced endoscopic techniques in the Research Track. Trainees wishing to pursue academic careers will be provided with the protected time necessary, and can be supported on our NIH-funded training grant.
Clinical Track
Our clinical track spans three (3) years, although additional training in the following areas are encouraged:
- Transplant Hepatology
- Nutrition
- Endoscopic Ultrasound
- ERCP
- Esophageal Disorders
