Continuing Medical Education 


The University of Illinois College of Medicine (UI COM), Office of Continuing Medical Education is the University of Illinois' accredited provider for continuing medical education (CME) activities.

The Office of Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and is responsible for coordinating the application submission, review, approval and monitoring process for all approved CME activities.

The office in Chicago overseas the activities at all four UI COM sites (Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, Urbana). Coordinators at each site provide guidance to activity directors and applications on the process of CME at the University of Illinois.

Continuing medical education provides an opportunity for life-long professional learning with access to the latest advances in the understanding and treatment of disease. In combination, these lead to the achievement of excellence in clinical practice, teaching, and research.

NOTE: The CME office is undergoing several personnel changes, thus you may experience a delay in response from the office.
