PREREQUISITES AND PLACEMENT IN THE CURRICULUM: Students must have completed their M3 Core Clerkships in Medicine and Surgery.

NOTE: This rotation is not offered during the month of July.

PURPOSE: Exposure of student to diagnostic imaging with focus on developing diagnostic skills and appropriate utilization of radiology service.

COMPETENCIES: Viewbox evaluation and topic presentation

INSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES: The student will be introduced to all aspects of diagnostic imaging. The student will be asked to make a short, formal presentation on some relevant subject at our weekly radiology grand rounds. The major portion of the clerk ship will be devoted to image interpretation.

Effective immediately, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's Department of Medical Education will strictly enforce its policy that students submit required paperwork at least two weeks before the start of their rotation. This policy is available on our website at http://www.advocatehealth.com/body.cfm?id=1113. The policy states: "Once a rotation is scheduled or approved, the following forms and information must be received by the Department Student Coordinator a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the rotation start date. Information can be submitted via e-mail, fax, or postal service to the rotating location (See Site Specific Information). Students must follow-up with the Coordinator to ensure paperwork has been received and processed.
