Dr. Ruland is the Program Director for the Vascular Neurology training program and is an active member of the department’s Education Committee. He serves the College of Medicine as Co-chair of the Telemedicine Steering Committee.
Dr Ruland is a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University class of 1995. He completed his Neurology Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999 and then completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular disease and neurological critical care at Rush University Medical Center in 2000.
Dr. Ruland is certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr Ruland's research and publications have included topics such as stroke prevention in minorities, quantification of cerebral blood flow in patients with large artery stenosis, and neurological critical care.
