The focus of section of Neuroepidemiology & Clinical Trial is research, teaching and training in application of epidemiological approaches to neurological disorders and to further the application of Evidence Based Medicine through of Quality of Care research in neurology.

The research activity of section includes

CAPTURE STROKE: The Development of Prototypes for the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Registry A hospital-based prototype acute stroke registry to monitor and improve quality of stroke care and treatment in Illinois. This registry served as prototypes for a nationwide stroke registry.

The Illinois CAPTURE Stroke – Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Registry A hospital-based acute stroke registry to monitor and improve quality of stroke care and treatment Illinois. This state based registry is part of nationwide stroke registry known as Paul Coverdell National acute Stroke Registry.

SERF TTP (Surveillance, Epidemiology and Risk factor for Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura)A multi-center case control study designed to investigate the risk factors for TTP and identify possible clinical and biological markers as prognostic factors related to 30-day mortality following incident TTP.
