Dr. John R. Hughes is Professor of Neurology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.
Dr. Hughes received medical training at Oxford University, later an MD degree at Northwestern University and finally an honorary Doctor of Medicine from Oxford University. He has a PhD from Harvard University.
Dr. Hughes' research interests include epilepsy in general and especially its relationship to EEG.
Dr. Hughes is well known in national and international circles as a world leader in epilepsy, especially in relation to electroencepholography. For over 30 years he has seved as Director of Epilepsy Clinic, the largest and oldest in USA and as Director of Clinical Neurophysiology. He has written eight books, including one in finve languages that is the most popular in the world of EEG. Also, he has published 545 peer-reviewed articles. Finally, he has written a popular book on the relationship of the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and mobster Sam Gianicana.
