Dr. Rana Mafee is an Assistant Professor at University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Chicago, and practices general neurology.
Dr. Mafee is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Mafee received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 2000. After completing an 8 month research fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology at University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago, she began training in Neurology. She completed her first year of Neurology Residency training at the University of Chicago in 2002, and finished Neurology Residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City in 2005. Following this, she completed a fellowship in Neurophysiology under Dr. Mathew Meriggioli at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago in 2006.
Dr. Mafee is fellowship trained in neurophysiology, and is active in the neurophysiology labs, performing EMGs as well as interpreting EEGs. She is actively seeing general neurology patient in the Neurology clinic at University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago.
Dr. Mafee has a specialty interest in Headache Neurology and has established a dedicated Headache Clinic at the University as well. She also has experience in Neuro-ophthalmology, which has been instrumental in evaluation and treatment of Headache patients.
She is actively involved in resident, fellow, and student teaching. She serves on the Neurology Education Committee, and is actively involved in regular lectures and teaching session with residents and students.
