Dr. David Nyenhuis is Associate Professor, Director of Neuropsychology and Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine.
Dr. Nyenhuis earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University. He completed his predoctoral internship in neuropsychology at the Boston VA Medical Center and his postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology in the Neurology Department at Boston University under the mentorship of Roberta White. He is a Diplomate in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Nyenhuis is a leader in the study of Vascular Cognitive Impairment and the Principle Investigator of an NIH/NINDS funded study (R01 NS057514) to validate neuropsychological tests for use in patients with suspected stroke and cerebrovascular disease. Dr. Nyenhuis heads the Vascular Cognitive Impairment section of the International Stroke Conference’s Program Committee. He is a founding member and Co-Chair of the Neuropsychology Section for the International Society for Vascular Behavioral and Cognitive Disorders (Vas Cog). He is the author or co-author of over 100 peer-reviewed articles, published abstracts, and conference presentations.
