Dr. Kaydanova is Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of Epilepsy Service and EEG Lab at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.
Dr. Kaydanova received her medical degree from the Academician Pavlov Medical School, St. Petersburg, Russia. She was an Associate Professor of Neurology with expertise in Epilepsy at the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Academy of Medical Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia. She received her PhD in Clinical Neurophysiology at the same Institute.
After coming to the US Dr. Kaydanova continued to pursue her career as an epileptologist. She spent one year of clinical research at the Rush University Epilepsy Center at Chicago. She completed residency in Neurology and fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997.
Dr. Kaydanova is certified in Neurology and in Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Kaydanova’s research interests include new pharmacological treatments of epilepsy as well as clinico-electrographic correlations in epilepsy. She has been PI and CoI of ten trials with investigative antiepileptic medications. She is PI of the State of Illinois DHS, Division of Disability and Behavioral Health grant “Consultation Clinic for Epilepsy.
Dr. Kaydanova is known as one of the national leaders in epilepsy management. Her major areas of clinical expertise are treatment of patients with intractable epilepsy, developmental disability, management of seizures during pregnancy.
Dr. Kaydanova was awarded with Class Act Award of the University of Illinois for Excellence in Patient Care and with John S. Garvin Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award of the Department of Neurology, University of Illinois.
