PROTOCOL REVIEW COMMITTEE
Cancer Center Protocol Review Committee Coordinator - Meha Singh, MS firstname.lastname@example.org
Cancer Center Protocol Review Committee (PRC), in cooperation with the UIC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Office for the Protection of Research Subjects, provides for the scientific review of all cancer-related protocols annually. Twenty-one individuals from multiple oncology and health care disciplines serve as members of the Committee. This diverse composition assures a multidisciplinary approach to protocol review.
Cancer Center Protocol Review Committee replaces the departmental review.
A comprehensive scientific review is conducted for all new protocols initiated by UIC investigators and for all industry sponsored protocols. New cancer clinical trial protocols supported by NIH mechanisms that have already undergone peer review are reviewed for feasibility and prioritization.
The protocol submission forms have been updated. The links below will take you directly to the appropriate forms, instructions for the forms, procedures and meeting schedule.

PRC Policies and Procedures
****Please check the Protocol Review and Monitoring Forms, Procedures and Meeting Schedule to determine if the PI's NIH Biographical Sketch (NIH Biosketch) should be included with a protocol submission. Protocols submitted to the Cancer Center Protocol Review Committee should utilize the new forms (above), which went into effect beginning October 15, 2012. The PRC will not accept protocols without the new forms after November 15, 2012.
New Research Tool Available for Investigators
The Cancer Center Protocol Review Committee is now using the OnCore Clinical Trials Management System, an online software system, to replace the protocol submission process. This is intended to be a tool for all Cancer Center members. It can be customized based on the needs of your research studies, and its functions include protocol management, subject management, custom case report form development, and sponsor billing. Please contact Kris Hollingsworth at email@example.com or 3-4252 to schedule training on the OnCore system.
***The PRC will only accept protocols submitted electronically using OnCore with protocol and subject (accruals) data beginning January 1, 2015.
Please click here to access OnCore.
