Documentation requirements including an updated TB skin test, all titers, respirator certification procedure and completed hospital forms can be accessed at the following URL:

    • Must be completed for EVERY rotation scheduled at an Advocate Hospital/Medical Center
  • Medical and Immunization Clearance Form - http://www.advocatehealth.com/documents/education/immune.pdf
    • Vaccination/Immunity Status- student must indicate the date of the immunity titer and circle the result. If no titer, please indicate vaccination dates as listed.
    • TB information must be current within one (1) calendar year of the rotation start date. If your TB test expires during your rotation you are required to get an updated test prior to the rotation start date. If you're current TB test was positive, proof of a negative chest x-ray or medical clearance is required. If you had a positive TB test in the past, a screening questionnaire completed within one year of your schedule rotation is sufficient for clearance.
    • Every student, rotating on a clinical service, must be fit tested for a TB mask. The date and type of mask must be indicated on the medical clearance form.
    • The student is required to sign the form to verify the accuracy of the information.

Reporting Place:
258 - W- 2nd Lobby Office area. 
Access second floor using "A" elevators in the mail lobby. Guard will buzz you through from the 2 South area to the 2 North offices. It is a full day of orientation.

Lockers:
Lockers are located in the Lounge area near Labor & Delivery. Please bring your own combination lock so that you may be assigned your locker immediately.

Parking and Map

Parking is available in Employee Lots 2,3 and 4. You will receive parking transponders at orientation. Entry into Lot 4 is the 93rd and Keeler entrance.


Advocate Christ Medical Center Call Room Security Policy
To increase safety and security of our residents and medical students who use Call Rooms at Christ Medical Center, we have implemented a locked door policy.

Any rotating residents and medical students who will need to use the call rooms must go to room 258W to sign in at the start of the rotation, and they will receive a call room key. Each program will have different keys.

You must return the key at the end of the rotation.  If you lose the key or fail to return it, a fee will be assessed for the lost key.  (Please note: lost meal cards, ID badges, and transponders will also incur a fee to replace the lost property).

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION/PARKING
Free parking is available on Keeler Avenue. Go north from 95th Street approximately ½ block. The entrance to the employee lot is on the west side of Keeler.

CLINICAL ROTATIONS
Three weeks are spent on the Obstetrics Service and 3 weeks on the Gynecology Service. All night calls are spent in labor and delivery. On the Obstetrics service, time divided between labor and delivery and outpatient OB Clinics. On the Gynecology service, experience is divided between surgical cases and the outpatient gynecology service.

CALL SCHEDULE
Call averages every 6th night with 2 students on call per night. Students should expect to have delivered several babies by the end of the rotation.

HIGHLIGHTS/UNIQUE FEATURES
Advocate Christ Medical Center is a large community, tertiary referral center. A student choosing to rotate through OBGYNE at this location will encounter large numbers of "normal" or low risk patients, as well as learn from experience with high-risk referral patients. The gynecology services are exceptionally busy, offering a variety of opportunities to learn pelvic anatomy. The student will also learn state of the art technology involved in the treatment of disorders related to gynecologic health.

RESIDENT/ATTENDING INVOLVEMENT
Students will work intimately with residents during the rotation. Advocate Christ Medical Center has 2 general Obstetrician/Gynecologists, 3 Perinatologists, and 1 Gyne Oncologist on the full time teaching faculty. In addition, there are 72 OB/GYNEs on staff. While this is a private facility, all patients in our department are on the teaching service.

AMENITIES
A student call room is available. Students are provided with a meal debit card, preloaded with the proper amount to cover meals for six calls and orientation day. There is a medical library on site. All patient units have access to Medline searches.
